Objective & Research Areas

Objective

  1. To carry out quality biomedical research to address national health priorities.
  2. To develop specialized medical diagnostic equipments.
  3. To organize seminars, forums, symposiums and other public engagement programmes on the current trends in Biomedical Engineering.
  4. To establish an internationally leading, vibrant, collaborative unit of interdisciplinary researchers by alliance and mutual cooperation with global researchers in the field of biomedical.
  5. To implement and utilize research results for the benefits of nation-building.

  1. Medical Devices – To do research on new and improved development in technology on medical devices. 
  2. Safety – To carry out research and studies on best practices on safety.
  3. Engineering and Technology – To do research on related engineering and technology on medical devices. 
  4. Management – To carry out research on health and regulatory requirements. 
  5. Design – To carry out design improvement on currents medical devices. 
  6. Ergonomics – To carry out studies on human – equipment ergonomics which includes the human comfort and needs. 
  7. Regional Growth – To carry out research on medical industry in Sarawak.
